Hello, all! This is Ellen Perantoni again, painter of the landscape in oil, in the manner of the Hudson River School. My art is inspired by American's great master painters of the nineteenth century, and the slightly later Barbizon School of Landscape Painting.. Most of the paintings whose images I have entered in this blog since 2007 are interpretations of scenes from my native Hudson Valley. Now I am a period of transition to Sedona in the American southwest, where changing needs have led to my also falling in love with the magnificent red rock country there.
This work shows the expansion of my vision to include the two geographies. Waterfalls tend to be rare and fleeing in the American southwest, but after a torrential rain you might see a cataract like the one above, transforming a previously dry hillside for perhaps only a few hours. I was inspired to create this Sedona waterfall fantasy by my remembered images of Kaaterskill Falls in the upper Hudson Valley. .
You can see more of my art at www.artwanted.com/EllenPerantoni and my e-mail address is eperantoni@yahoo.com
This painting is on 11 x 14" stretched canvas and is currently in my studio Framed as shown in a carved traditional wood frame it is about 16 x 19" om the wall and priced $950. I will consider a payment plan/fair offer from a sincere collector. Or the painting will find its way to the display space of an art gallery which represents me.
I hope you enjoy reading the posts in this blog that go back to 2007. If you wish to purchase a painting from an internet photo you can return it for a refund within 30 days if you are not delighted. Most people think my paintings look better in actuality -- the detail shows better and they have more depth and liveliness.
