Hello, aficionados of landscape art and blog readers in general! This is Ellen Perantoni again, painter of the landscape in oil in a manner inspired by the Hudson River School and the slightly later Barbizon School. I have often visited North Lake State Park in the northern Catskill Mountains west of the Hudson, and enjoyed many firelit evenings on the shore of tranquil North Lake. I and my family have seen dozens of beautiful sunsets there, as the the trees become silhouetted in delicious dark colors against flaming skies like the one in this painting. I have been posting painting images, art chat and purchase info on this blog since 2007. The apparent simplicity of this image notwithstanding, I have been working on this painting off and on for years. My paintings tend to take a long time until I'm satisfied. You can see more of my art on www.artwanted.com/EllenPerantoni and my e-mail address is eperantoni@yahoo.com
This painting is executed on a 14x18" stretched canvas and framed as shown in a handsome wood frame that brings the size on the wall to about 19x23". it is now in my studio and is priced at $1275. I would consider a payment plan for a sincere collector.
If you would like to see my art before purchase I will be happy to show it at my studio by appointment. the studio is about 2 hours north of the NYC metro area and within a few hours of most points in New England, NJ and eastern PA. The mid Hudson Valley region where I live is a delightful place to spend a weekend.
If you purchase a painting from an Internet photo and are not delighted with it you can return it for a refund within 30 days. If you prefer to view art at a gallery, my work is on exhibit at the Driftwood Gallery, Peekskill, NY; Kaaterskill Fine Arts, Hunter, NY; Green (gallery), Saugerties, NY. My art is also on display in Rhinebeck, NY on the walls of At the Top, on Montgomery St.
I also exhibit at temporary art shows and plan two studio sale weekends this year: one the second weekend of August and one this spring, date TBA. Please contact me for more info and directions or or watch this blog.
