Sunset After Thundershower

Hello, art loving friends and blog readers! This is my latest work in the "wide format" shape I've become fond of. I am Ellen Perantoni, painter of the landscape in oil in a manner inspired by the 19th century Hudson River School painters. I live and paint here in the Hudson Valley, where this kind of beauty is still blessedly commonplace...though that is is too modest a term for such spectacular beauty. The very changeability of the weather and the skies here is exciting. More of my paintings can be seen on www.artwanted.com/EllenPerantoni and my e-mail address is eperantoni@yahoo.com
This work is still drying in my studio. Now that winter is on the wane (that's what the calendar says, anyway) I look forward to these mountains being clothed in lush foliage as in this view.
This painting is oil on stretched canvas, 12x24". I plan to frame it in a wide traditional gold frame that will bring its size on the wall to about 21x33". When framed it will be priced in the $1900. range; If a buyer wishes to frame it him/herself the price will be $1700. (I use museum quality framing, usually heavy carved hardwood frames).
Or it may be consigned to one of the fine art galleries that represent me, such as The Driftwood Gallery, Peekskill; Berkshire Art Gallery, Great Barrington, and Green, Saugerties, NY. And I also do temporary art exhibits and sell from my studio by appointment.
I have art work posted on this blog dating back to 2007. Some of those works are sold but some are available. Each blog entry about an available painting states whether it is in a gallery (and if so, which gallery) or in my studio.
If you purchase a work from me from an Internet photo without seeing the actual painting, you can return it within 30 days if you are not delighted. Most people feel the paintings look better than the photos, because digital dot-matrix photography does not convey the depth of my style.
