More about Artist's Studio Tour August 16-17, and Rosy Sky Tapestry

Hello, art collectors and blog readers again! I am Ellen Perantoni, painter of the landscape in oil in a manner inspired by the Hudson River School painters and Barbizon School painters of the nineteenth century. I am happy to live and paint in the mid-Hudson Valley, where I can paint many of the same scenes first immortalized by nineteenth century masters.
My e-mail address is eperantoni@yahoo.com and more of my art can be seen on www.artwanted.com/EllenPerantoni.
This scene, Rosy Sky Tapestry, was sold on SAT studio tour weekend, Augus 16-17.
The stretched canvas is 8x10" and in its museum quality carved wood frame it's about 14x16" on the wall. It depicts a rosy sunset over one of the spectacular bends in the Hudson River, in the fall when foliage colors add to the tapestry. I believe it has drama--will the motion of the cloud masses lead to a storm or to a clearing up as the sun sinks? I find such drama inherent in the sometimes-misty atmosphere of the Hudson Valley, fed by evaporation from this legendary river.
My studio tour was part of a town-wide event in which 24 artist studios were open to the public. The tour web site, programmed with the tour map in downloadable form, is www.saugertiesarttour.com
Tour studios will also include those of potters, sculptures, clothing designers and more. Check out the web site; I believe you'll find it attractive and readable.
I also sell my art from this blog and at several fine galleries which represent me. The Driftwood Gallery in Peekskill, NY; Berkshire Art Gallery in Great Barrington, Mass.; The Lionheart Gallery in Pound Ridge; the Arlington Gallery in Poughkeepsie, NY always have some of my art on display. Contact me for more info about these venues, or google them.
A few of my paintings are still at the Shelley K Gallery in Saugerties starting July 26 but the exhibit ends August 24. This is about 7 miles from my home studio. The Shelley K Gallery is open most days including weekdays.
If you purchase one of my works from an Internet photo, you can return it within 30 days if you are not delighted.
I hope to hear from you or see you at the studio tour!
Have a wonderful week,
best, Ellen
